Albert L. Garza II was born in 1971 to Silvana D. Salamone (Sicilian), the first woman to become the lightweight world karate champion at the age of 16, and Albert L. Garza Sr. Al Garza II learned martial arts from his father, an 8th-degree black belt in Lima Lama and the creator of the Matrix System. Al Garza II holds a 6D Black Belt in Lima-Lama from his father and a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Pedro Carvalho. He began training at age 6 with his father and continued with world champions Gene LeBell, Pedro Carvalho, and Cleber Luciano, whom he competed against in his first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black-belt tournament. Al Garza is a professor of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a former 1999 King of the Cage champion in mixed martial arts, having held numerous karate titles and BJJ titles in the 1980s and 2000s. He was also a fight coordinator and stuntman on the movie Vampire Assassin (see the end credits). Al Garza's MMA record, both professional and amateur, from 1992 to 2006, ended at 15-2-0 (1-2-0 in the cage). He is a former certified defensive tactics instructor for the Correctional Academy at SJVC Hesperia Campus and a former co-owner of Inside Kung-Fu Magazine, alongside his father and Dave Cater. 


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Garza has studied the Bible for over 30 years and is an independent biblical research scholar who has authored more than 30 books.  Al Garza holds an M.A. in Biblical Studies from Colorado Christian University. He also holds a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Concordia University's International Graduate Program at Andersen Air Force Base, Yigo, Guam. He also completed Bar-Ilan University's Biblical Archaeology certification program and is a Certified Master Associate Scholar (MAS) graduate in the Linguistic Context of the Bible, with 180 hours of biblical linguistics training in Biblical Hebrew, Aramaic, and New Testament Greek from Hebrew University's Institute of Biblical Studies in Israel. He was awarded six linguistic certifications and one Master Associate Scholar linguistic certification. Dr. Al Garza also holds three additional diplomas from the Israel Bible Study Center. These were in Jewish Context and Culture, Hebrew Bible, and Jewish New Testament, and they took a total of 160 hours to complete. He is currently working toward another Ph.D. at Trinity Bible College and Graduate School in North Dakota. The topic of his dissertation is Psalm 110:1a: "From Adoni to Adonai: A Textual and Theological Reexamination of Psalm 110:1a." Dr. Garza is also currently translating more than 4,000 pages of Hebrew New Testament manuscripts he has discovered. Dr. Garza's education also includes certifications in both national and CA state laboratory and diagnostic training and research. He is certified in public health epidemiology by Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Garza has developed state-approved curricula for medical-related programs at colleges and universities across the U.S. over the past 20 years. He currently owns AG Institute LLC, Phlebotomy Solutions, and Victor Valley Phlebotomy Training, with three locations: Victorville, Rancho Cucamonga, and Palmdale, CA. Author of "When A Simple Blood Draw Goes Wrong," "Phlebotomy Solutions: Back to the Basics Study Guide," and "Phlebotomy Solutions Instructor Book." He is also an investor in Michael Franzese Wines

Al Garza was the Religious Education Coordinator and held federal and government contracts with the DOD. He is the founder and director of The Hebrew Institute: Hebrew NT Studies, and the owner of three companies: AG Institute, Sefer Press Publishing, and Havan Cigar Lounge in Hesperia, CA. Al Garza has also written several hit Christian songs, including "Why The World Needs Jesus," "Glory to the Highest," and "From The Cross To The Crown," which are available on Apple Music, Amazon Music, iHeart, and other online music retailers.

Research Interest:

Biblical Hebrew, Modern Hebrew, morphology, lexicology, lexicography, onomastics, and sociolinguistics. His primary research focus is the lexicography of ancient Hebrew and the translation project of the Hebrew New Testament.
